Our client, a leading hedge fund headquartered in New York, seeks a talented transactional attorney to join its Legal & Compliance team in London. This role offers the opportunity to become part of a small, highly skilled team responsible for supporting a variety of investment transactions and related matters, and work in a rigorous but collegial environment that values inclusiveness, creative problem solving, and attention to detail. The position You’ll work closely with investment professionals and the firm’s Legal & Compliance, Tax, and Treasury teams to analyze, advise on, and execute transactions of varying size, scope, and complexity, primarily for the firm’s Private Credit business. Your responsibilities will involve legal support for a variety of structured credit investments (including “significant risk transfer” synthetic securitizations), typically involving financial institutions seeking to transfer credit risk, and related financing arrangements. You’ll also have the opportunity to assist with other types of credit investments such as loan origination, secondary credit trading, and debt restructurings. Your duties will include counseling investment professionals, conducting legal analysis, structuring transactions, negotiating and executing deals, and providing post-closing support. Target background • Candidates should have a law degree and at least four years of post-law school experience in structured credit or private credit at a law firm, asset management firm, investment bank, and/or other financial services firm. • Candidates should have an impressive record of academic and professional achievement, excellent analytical abilities, keen communication and organizational skills, and exceptional attention to detail. • Excellent judgment is of great importance, as is a demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced work environment.
