Role Overview: We're looking for an experienced Construction Manager with a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) bias to support the delivery of capital projects at Manchester Airport. In this role, you'll oversee the M&E aspects across all stages of the project lifecycle - from planning through to completion - ensuring safety, quality, and programme compliance are maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide construction management oversight for M&E components of airport capital projects.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers to support successful delivery of the Capital Plan.
- Act as the on-site M&E lead, ensuring contractor activities are safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible.
- Monitor progress through site inspections and reviews against contract documentation and project timelines.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams.
- Champion a "safety-first" culture while meeting quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability targets.
- Ensure all works comply with health and safety legislation, airport operational constraints, and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in managing Mechanical & Electrical systems, particularly in substations and runway cabling.
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
- Experience in aviation is advantageous but not essential.
- NEC Supervisor or Clerk of Works experience is beneficial.
- Must be eligible for and obtain an Airside Pass (employment subject to clearance).
