At Amazon, we need talented and experienced individuals to help us operate safely and efficiently. As a Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Manager, your role is key to driving improvements on-site and at a regional level. You'll help your colleagues maintain high standards, all while driving a culture of safety and inclusivity on your site and managing the health and safety program within the Amazon Fresh Store business. Fresh Stores are a new offering in Amazon's portfolio that focuses on in-person shopping experiences through retail stores. This role has the unique responsibility of providing technical support and execution to ensure the safety of both internal and external customers across multiple physical retail locations.

You will partner with operations teams along with the Global WHS team to execute company health and safety policies. You will ensure compliance with applicable local, corporate, and legal regulations. You will utilize risk assessments to make data-driven decisions to minimize risk and implement best practices for our stores.

Key job responsibilities
  • Manage your team on-site, whilst regularly collaborating with other teams across the company
  • Use internal reporting tools to analyse data reports and root causes that provide leadership with the information they need to make safety related decisions
  • Provide guidance and arrangements for health and safety projects and policies
  • Drive programmes designed to improve the safety culture in Amazon
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education to a degree level or equivalent level of qualification in line with the European Qualifications Framework (EFQ) and additional qualifications to an NVQ5/NEBOSH Diploma level
  • Relevant experience managing a team
  • Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with Lean, 5S and Kaizen methodologies
  • Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability
  • Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership
  • Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management
