Cornish Lithium is developing the Trelavour Project near St Dennis to produce lithium and other valuable by-products. The Trelavour Project comprises a former kaolin clay pit, currently being re-purposed by Cornish Lithium for lithium ore production, and the processing site, located a kilometre from the pit, which will be the location of the lithium extraction plant.
Job Role
Reporting to the Quarry Manager, the Site Supervisor will be appointed 8.1.d according to HSE Quarry Regulations with health, safety and operational responsibilities for the pit and processing site. Our group policy includes the expectation that both sites will operate with a zero-harm culture that the successful applicant, working closely with the Company's Health and Safety Manager, will be required to deliver and maintain.
Key Qualities
Experienced in site HSE requirements and of putting HSE at the forefront of all site activities.
Understanding of key health and safety issues and legislation for site operations.
Experienced in working in small site teams and overseeing contractors.
Experienced with operating mobile site equipment and conducting general maintenance.
Right to work in the UK and a full driving licence.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee site and quarry activities promoting the highest safety, health and environmental standards, comply with quarry regulations, appointed 8.1.d.
Ensure all statutory obligations, company policies and procedures are understood and applied.
Engage in all aspects of quarry and site maintenance including operating mobile equipment such as a forklift and telehandler.
Oversee the safe and effective performance of contractors.
Administer company maintenance systems and routine site inspections, services and testing.
Desirable Qualities
IOSH Managing Safely qualification or equivalent qualification
NVQ level 4 in SHE quarry operations
Geotechnical knowledge level 3
Forklift Truck/Telehandler Licence
Training will be provided if necessary
Salary and Hours
We offer a competitive salary for this role dependent on experience, with the following benefits post probation:

The role will be based at the Trelavour site, St Dennis, Cornwall, PL26 8DY. Working hours are typically 37.5 hours per week, but there may be a need for flexible hours, weekend and bank holiday working depending on the company’s requirements. Annual leave comprises 25 days’ holiday per year pro rata, plus Bank Holidays.
