They are a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance.
Position Summary:
This role is to help continually improve and assess the manufacturing process within the weld department, continually reviewing drawing and standards. Key responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for creating Bill of Materials (MBOM's)
- Creating weld documentation such as weld maps and drawings
- Complete work analysis and labour studies (Kaizen)
- Working on layout of workstations and storage areas
- Working on design and acquisitions of jigs and other fixtures
- Continual evaluations of tooling
- Updating processes and documentation on IT Systems
- Create lesson plans for Production Team
- Promote best and safe practice
- Support audits
- Make methods and quality improvements
Qualifications:
Degree, HNC or HND (engineering)
Functional Knowledge:
- Experience in an Engineering Manufacturing environment ideally Welding / fabrication
- Good HSE knowledge
- Keen eye for detail
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient in computerised business tools (SAP and MS Office such as Excel and Word)
