Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Senior Underwriter in our UK London Property team in our Commercial Lines business. Our Corporate Property team writes large commercial risks across the UK and International markets. Our clients present challenging and complex risks often with multinational requirements. This opportunity sits within our UK London team and Real Estate segment.

What you’ll be doing:
- Handling renewal and new business within agreed parameters for large UK Property accounts as both a lead and follow insurer.
- Analysis of information for underwriting purposes, specifically regarding account pricing, engineering overviews, and account performance analysis.
- Attend client presentations and meetings, with travel when required.
- Adherence to all financial, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Liaising with insurance and reinsurance brokers, with full client engagement.
- Provide advice, guidance, and training to underwriters and junior members of the department.
- Ad-hoc tasks & projects.
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum 5 years Property underwriting experience within the London market.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a team-oriented approach.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- ACII or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
- Ability to organise efficiently.
- Comprehensive computer skills, including Microsoft Office Excel, etc.
