The Commercial Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the completion of commercial contracts, including pricing and financial performance, to ensure the company's commercial interests are protected and promoted. This role requires a strong contractual understanding, analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
Key Responsibilities Areas:
- Contract, Pricing, Legal: Commercial Contracts & Compliance
- Ensure all supplier and customer contracts are reviewed accurately and in a timely manner to best protect and promote commercial interests.
- Ensure terms and conditions (T&Cs) are fully understood by the business, mapped, and stored on the CRM, making them accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee contractual arrangement policies, processes, and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and ethical governance where necessary.
- Work closely with the billing department to ensure all invoices align with contractual agreements, minimizing disputes and revenue leakage.
- Be the responsible officer for submitting standard rate cards to customers upon request, ensuring efficiency and delivery within a day while aligning with market benchmarks.
- Manage customer and supplier commercial portals, ensuring all variations, early warning notices, and change controls are responded to promptly and effectively keeping us compliant with legislation and contractual agreements.
- Provide insight and recommendations to the wider business and the Leadership Team on changing requirements and longer-term developments to provide a competitive edge.
- Work with the Commercial Director to shape and implement overall pricing strategy, ensuring competitiveness and profitability and achievement of annual budgets.
- Lead pricing for new jobs, projects, regions, and solutions, ensuring alignment with market conditions and operational feasibility, working with Business Development, Commercial & Operations to grow the business.
- Ensure all pricing uplifts are applied in a timely manner, keeping revenue streams optimized.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive a balance between the tension of Sales and Delivery teams, ensuring pricing decisions support effective service delivery while maximizing business value.
- Ensure that operatives coming off work schedules and where not planned with new placements in advance, are built into contracts to support re-skilling to minimize downtime and enhance redeployment, and where necessary to recoup expenses from long-term contracts with consideration to redundancy, notice etc.
- Undertake research into new markets and solutions to support commercial expansion and business development efforts.
- Report actual performance against key contractual terms, ensuring all deviations are understood and escalated promptly, with relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
- Leverage analytics, including Excel for data analysis, (including lookups, pivot tables, and SUMIFS) to ensure data-driven decision-making and demonstrate the impact of initiatives to reduce costs and drive productivity.
- Develop and maintain KPIs to track and improve commercial performance, pricing accuracy, and contract adherence.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and labor market dynamics to inform strategies to ensure contracts reflect skill developments in our workforce contributes to revenue.
- Run an annual Contract review to understand current gaps in operational delivery against contractual agreements supporting operational teams at a local level.
- Support ongoing initiatives to enhance commercial efficiency through the use of AI tools for contract review and automation.
- Support the Operational delivery teams by creating best practice methodologies for delivery of contracts using innovative tools & strategies to ensure Operations are able to implement contracts at a local level.
- Work closely with payroll and billing teams to ensure new contracts are implemented correctly from a payment and invoicing perspective.
- Work with the Social Values, Health & Safety Team and wider People & Culture team to ensure that we leverage socio-economic factors within our contracts and to win tenders & bids.
- Design and manage end-to-end implementation of commercial processes with recruitment, operations, and finance teams ensuring seamless integration of procedures to enhance productivity.
- Represent the company professionally and competently in all customer and supplier commercial forums.
- Be a team player, willing to roll up sleeves and contribute wherever necessary to support commercial success.
- Champion initiatives that promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture particularly Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives that position the company as an employer of choice.

- Provide reviews with Executive and Leadership team.
- Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to align initiatives with business needs.
- Deliver opportunistic and quarterly reviews where necessary.

- Ensure consistent communication across all levels of the business, supporting alignment and understanding.
