Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design Engineer | Chichester | £45,000 – £52,000 + Benefits We’re working with a forward-thinking multidisciplinary Design & Build consultancy based in Chichester that’s delivering cutting-edge electrical solutions across a wide range of commercial and industrial projects. As their project portfolio grows, they’re looking to appoint an Electrical Design Engineer to take a hands-on role in the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical systems from concept to completion. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in building services or electrical design, who’s looking to work on meaningful projects in a collaborative and progressive environment. Key Duties & Responsibilities: * Produce detailed electrical designs in compliance with BS7671 and other relevant standards * Collaborate with in-house architects, mechanical engineers, and external stakeholders to deliver fully integrated design solutions * Apply knowledge of BS5839-1 (Fire Detection) and security systems to design safe and compliant installations * Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for tender, construction, and handover * Solve complex technical challenges with practical, innovative solutions * Support the delivery of design projects from early-stage planning through to final sign-off * Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development across the team * Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and site inspections as required Skills & Experience Required: * Proven experience in electrical building services or design engineering * Strong working knowledge of BS7671 and other UK standards and regulations * Experience with design and coordination of LV power, lighting, fire alarms, and security systems * Comfortable using electrical design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Relux/Dialux, etc.) * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills * Proactive, organised, and comfortable working across multiple live projects * Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services preferred Summary: Position: Electrical Design Engineer Location: Chichester, West Sussex Salary: £45,000 – £52,000 + Benefits Duration: Permanent Start Date: Notice Dependant This is a great opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a fast-growing consultancy that values innovation, collaboration, and high-quality delivery.
