Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced LGV (Light Goods Vehicle) Mechanic to join one of our renowned clients based in Milton Keynes. This is a family owned and run company who operate a large fleet of construction vehicles, including tippers, skip trucks, grab trucks and low loaders. The successful applicant will be required to undertake all aspects of vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair to keep the fleet to DVSA standards.
You will be based out of our clients large 6 bay workshop in Milton Keynes, and will be working Monday to Friday, and Saturday’s when required (paid at an overtime rate).
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- MOT preparation / presentation.
- Vehicle inspections.
- General servicing.
- Correction / repair of vehicle defects.
- Engine / gearbox repairs & overhauls.
- Completion of all required paperwork.
- Welding / fabrication.
- You will be mainly workshop based with occasional breakdown/roadside diagnostic work when required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- The successful applicant will need at least 5 years’ experience and must be a fully qualified LGV mechanic (City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- A full relevant driving Licence.
- Diagnostic experience.
