In this role, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining a robust Supplier Approval System while driving improvements in both site and supplier quality performance. You will manage root cause analyses, implement effective corrective actions, and develop supplier capabilities in line with established quality standards and performance metrics. Additional responsibilities include maintaining and improving Business Management System (BMS) processes and procedures, conducting internal audits, and supporting both customer and regulatory audits. The engineer will also represent the Quality function in interactions with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams, and will play a key role in driving continuous improvement through business initiatives and lessons learned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain an efficient Supplier Approval and Review System
- Conduct effective RCCA resulting in Supplier Development
- Improve Supplier Quality metrics through Improvement Plans with Suppliers
- Manage Supplier Material Review Board and SCAR process
- Conduct systematic Supplier Performance Reviews
- Engage with Suppliers to develop a professional and responsive relationship
- Ensure best practice adopted by Site and Supply Chain
- Implement methods of recording Supplier Performance for SDPPM and SOTIF
- Achieve KPI performance for Supplier and Site Quality Objectives
- Ensure adherence to Supply Chain Procedures, Processes and Policies
- Define Supplier MRB metrics and maintain performance within target condition
- Participate in Site wide Continuous Improvement projects
- Support Transfer of Work and First Article Inspection activities
- Ensure all relevant Quality metrics are recorded and utilised
- Identify, develop and implement systems for assurance of product conformity
- Support Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA/ DFMEA etc.)
- Re-enforce Quality behaviours through training, support and assessment
- Support maintenance and improvement of BMS procedures and processes
- Deploy effective Quality Planning and Contract Reviews
- Support removal of non-value added activity within the Supply Chain
- Process NCRs/CRs/FRACAS Reports for Site and Supplier related activities
- Ensure Supplier flow-down of Regulatory and Contractual Quality requirements
- Ensure efficient/effective handling of non-conformities and Customer complaints
