At Cavendish Nuclear we are working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Construction Engineer - Mechanical Piping at the Hinkley Point C new nuclear build in Bridgwater, Somerset. This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance works across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main MEH, cabling and associated support services.

The role:

  • Lead, manage and motivate the team through implementation of best practice.
  • Support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures and ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site license requirements.
  • Deliver Mechanical & Piping Construction Workpacks to support the MEH Alliance programme.
  • Provide and demonstrate positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project.
  • Enable the use of the Procon system to support the construction works and progress reporting of the MEH Alliance.
  • Enable the requesting and compliance of the MEH Alliance for the Work Authorisation and Permit systems operated by NNB.
  • Enable the co-ordination of safe access routing to workfaces to support the MEH Alliance construction works.
  • Enable the topographical and other surveying required to support the MEH Alliance construction works.
  • Prioritise and own documentation to enable construction works as per the level 4 plan.
  • Ensure documents are compliant with latest works information and other MEH documentation.

This is a full-time role with 37 hours per week based on the Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset.

Essential experience:

  • Experience working on major construction projects with a proven track record in a highly regulated sector.
  • Knowledge and experience in Safe Systems of Work.
  • Experienced in delivering and operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including experience working within Joint Ventures.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience of installing Mechanical and Piping systems.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
