The Role
Collaborating with Project Managers to gather requirements directly from the client, the Clinical Solutions Designer (CSD) acts as a conduit between non-technical stakeholders and the technical build teams. They translate the client’s needs into well-crafted, technical facing user stories and tasks, as well as business requirements. Ultimately, the CSD ensures the successful configuration of the uMotif eCOA platform to meet the specific needs of the clinical study and the client.
What will you do?
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, technical managers, implementation specialists, developers and testers to design project deliverables of varying complexities, within the capabilities of the product, to suit the needs of the client, while considering the implications with regards the protocol and the delivery build teams.
- Act as SME during pre-sales activities, reviewing study protocols to assess the most effective solution and prototyping for the client using our internal configuration tools and ensures the client solution is within current released product’s capabilities.
- Conduct workshops and proof-of-concept sessions with clients, showcasing their Questionnaire designs and study journey mapping.
- Become expert in the internal tools used to configure the TrialMotif platform.
- Explain detailed and complex technical requirements and design considerations to non-technical staff and clients, also translating non-technical requests and requirements into language technical staff can interpret without ambiguity.
- Plan and prioritise user stories, managing multiple project backlogs to enable efficient and effective delivery of multiple multi-faceted large projects.
- Solve demanding and complex technical design challenges with well thought out solutions, within the capabilities of the configurable product.
- Develop a good understanding of the tools, systems, core features and design standards required to design project deliverables acting as SME for the capabilities of the platform, specialising in high-quality efficient and repeatable story design.
- Champion standards and practices set by Delivery Services leadership, maintaining a high standard of Jira hygiene & requirement/story quality, setting standards for Questionnaire and study design.
- Develop Life Science technology expertise and exposure - presenting at and attending relevant events.
What you need to succeed
Required skills and competences:- Industry knowledge of Clinical Trial design and processes, as they relate to ePRO/eCOA.
- Experience of eClinical systems within the Pharmaceutical Trial industry, such as IRT, RTSM, EDC, eCOA and ePRO.
- Deep understanding and experience with Agile, Waterfall and other software development methodologies within eClinical solutions.
- Ability to explain detailed & complex technical requirements and design considerations to non-technical staff and clients, utilizing diagrammatic journey mapping and design mock ups to enrich the narrative in the design phase.
- Experience creating client facing specification documentation to reflect the chosen design in a non-ambiguous format to gain the Client’s understanding and approval.
- Ability to translate non-technical requests and requirements into detailed language technical staff can interpret without ambiguity.
- Experience creating Epics, User Stories and Tasks for Developers and Testers to use as a single source of truth.
- Ability to act as SME for the capabilities of the uMotif platform, specialising in high-quality efficient and repeatable story design.
- Experience using configuration tools to prototype and build eClinical systems.
- Ability to work within cross-functional, global teams to deliver a common goal to short timelines with an eye on quality.
- Solid analytical and technical skills with regard to software application design.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships and networks with all stakeholders, including clients, of varying technical ability.
- Experience working within a fast-paced, delivery team, able to switch between multiple ongoing projects to support the delivery.
- Ability to inspire others within a rapidly changing business environment, maintaining a positive outlook.
