£13.96per hour to £17.37 per hour Depending on experience (Overtime available)

An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a Laser Operator.

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicatedLaser Operatorwith a minimum of 2 years experience working withTrumpf laser systems, specificallyTrumpf L20 and L09 machines. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for precision engineering.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Section Team Leader and working as an integral part of theProfiling Team
Operate Trumpf L20 and L09 laser cutting machines in line with daily production schedules
Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and minimal downtime
Focus onquality and Right First Time (RFT)production
Accurately follow work instructions, technical drawings, and job specifications
Perform visual and measured checks using appropriate measuring tools
Maintain a clean and organised working environment
Communicate effectively with colleagues and support continuous improvement initiatives

Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintainTrumpf L20 and L09 laser cutting machinesto produce high-quality components
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Ensure accurate setup and calibration of machinery before production
Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality
Perform routine machine maintenance and report any issues
Mentor and support apprentices, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices
Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the workshop

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Requirements:
Minimum2 years of experience operating Trumpf laser machines (L20 & L09)
Willingness and capability to mentor and train apprentices
A proactive and positive attitude toward learning and development

Desirable Skills:
Competent in the use of measuring equipment such as callipers, tapes and gauges
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with a strong attention to detail
Good understanding of the laser cutting process & dealing with high strength steels
Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
