Established for over 40 years, Straight Line Engineering Ltd is a Precision Tool Making Company working predominantly in the Aerospace sector, where we currently have a position to suit a CNC Machinist with experience of working in a tool room environment.
Benefits:
- Up to £17.00 per hour depending on experience
- 37 hours per week: Mon to Thur 07:30 to 15:30 and Fri 07:30 to 15:00
- Overtime (when available after 37 hours) - rate: 1.3 Mon to Fri, 1.5 Sat
- 33 Holidays Annually including 8 bank holidays
- Training can be offered in some aspects of the Tool room functions
- Company Pension Scheme (optional) - Employer Contribution: 3% / Employee Contribution: 5%
- Death in service (after qualifying period of 2 years)
- Company sick pay (after qualifying period of 2 years)
- PPE provided, boots, safety glasses, prescription safety glasses (if required) and overalls
- Company clothing, i.e. polo shirts, T shirts and fleece
Requirements:
- Engineering Qualifications to support experience
- General engineering experience with regards to Turning, Milling and Grinding
- Collaborate with other team members to optimise production processes
- A logical approach to problem solving / troubleshooting
- Experience of Fanuc & Heidenhain controls
Key Responsibilities:
- Competent in setting a variety of milling and / or lathe machines
- Self-inspect tools to drawings prior to final inspection
- De-burr tools to remove sharp edges
- Recording of work information/data to help monitor costing and efficiency
- Multi-man between machines
- Ensure traceability is always maintained on the appropriate Tools, Materials & Paperwork
- Complete first line maintenance on machine i.e., remove swarf, check safety features, keep oil and coolant topped up
- Comply with health & safety requirements to perform job safely and complete training as necessary
- To undertake other roles and tasks as requested that are commensurate with level and function of this post which support business demand
