The Electronics Group is the largest independent IPC and Electronics training partner in the UK. We train professionals from all walks of the electronics industry, from Operators and Quality Inspectors to In-House Trainers, Rework Specialists, and Design Engineers. We work with businesses of all sizes from small micro-SMEs to globally recognised conglomerates, representing all areas of the electronics industry including Military & Defence, Aerospace, Automotive, Motorsport, OEM, CEM, Oil & Gas, Medical, and everything in between!
The Electronics Group are the only Authorised IPC Training Centre to operate two training centres in the UK. Our original training centre, and Head Office, is in West Park, Leeds. Our newest addition is in Cirencester. Both training centres offer practical and non-practical accredited and non-accredited training courses.
To complement our training solutions, we also offer technical inspection services, recruitment, and consultancy services.
Our IPC and Electronics Trainers are responsible for delivering IPC accredited training as well as our own bespoke skills-based electronics courses. Courses can be delivered at either training centre, remotely via Teams, or at customers' facilities. Travel to customers' sites throughout the UK will be required with overnight stays.
We pride ourselves on offering the best services to industry professionals, as well as those looking to enter the world of electronics. We will provide necessary training and development to the successful candidate.
This role can be based out of Leeds or Cirencester but due to the travel required to multiple sites a full driving licence and own vehicle are required.
IPC Trainer Requirements
- Strong hands-on knowledge of PCBs and PCBAs - Essential
- Hands-On experience of soldering PTH and SMT components - Essential
- Knowledge of IPC
- Knowledge of electronics assembly and manufacturing processes
- Experience with cable and wire harness assemblies - Desirable
- Excellent written and spoken English - Essential
- Experience of delivering high quality training - Desirable
- Confident in speaking in front of groups of people
- Good IT Skills
IPC Trainer Responsibilities
- Train and provide support to delegates and clients
- Set up and administer training classes
- Train and educate in IPC, ESD, Soldering, Wiring Skills
- Promote a safe working environment
- Maintain all training records
- Manage and collaborate course feedback
- Maintain the high quality of training and service expected from The Electronics Group
- Assist with customer workshop jobs including rework and X-Ray
