A UPS Engineer / Service Engineer / Customer Service Engineer is required to join a global critical power company. The role involves commissioning, maintaining, repairing, and occasionally modifying power protection products. Flexibility is essential, as engineers work on a 5-from-7-day contract, including weekends and occasional night shifts.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in a field service-based role with good knowledge of UPS systems or power protection products.
Package:
- Up to £50,000
- 15% shift allowance + Overtime (1.25x hourly rate) + On-call allowance (£45/day)

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform commissioning, servicing, and repair of battery-backed rotary UPS systems, diesel UPS systems, static UPS systems, and frequency converters (including 400Hz aircraft ground power equipment).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on UPS systems, power rectifiers, and inverter drives.
- Travel to customer sites across the UK and occasionally Europe to provide expert technical support.
- Ensure timely completion of all documentation, reports, and electronic submissions.
- Participate in an on-call rotation (1 week on-call every 7-10 weeks).
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, especially when working in sensitive financial and government establishments.
This is a remote role, but the ideal person will be located within a 25-mile radius of the M25.
Key Requirements:
- Prior experience as a Service Engineer, Electrical Engineer, UPS Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Service Technician, Electrical Systems Engineer or similar within electrical engineering / critical power.
- Electrical engineering qualification, electrical degree or UPS System Certification or similar is required.
- Willingness to undergo credit and criminal background checks for clearance requirements for sensitive customer sites.
- Clean full UK driving licence.
