Job Title: Financial Controller – Property & Support Services Location: London Reporting To: Chief Financial Officer Remuneration: £70,000-£80,000 Base plus package About the Role: Are you an experienced finance professional looking to take on a leadership role in a dynamic organisation? We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead the finance function and drive financial strategy of this Property & Support Services business. This pivotal role will oversee financial reporting, compliance, and team management, ensuring the organisation\’s financial health and success. You will play a key role in supporting senior leadership, providing strategic financial insights, and ensuring compliance with UK financial regulations. What the role entails: Financial Management and Reporting • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts. • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, including tax filings and audits. • Review and analyse financial data, providing actionable insights to senior leadership. • Maintain and improve internal financial controls, policies, and procedures. Team Leadership • Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team. • Set clear objectives and performance standards, conducting regular performance reviews. • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture. Payroll and Compliance • Oversee the Payroll team to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. • Ensure compliance with all payroll regulations, including tax, pensions, and statutory requirements. • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and advise the organisation accordingly. Budgeting and Forecasting • Monitor and report on budget variances, providing recommendations for corrective action where necessary. • Prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure effective financial planning and liquidity management. Stakeholder Collaboration • Act as the primary finance point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and suppliers. • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Systems and Process Improvement • Evaluate and implement improvements to financial systems and processes for efficiency and accuracy. • Leverage technology to enhance reporting capabilities and streamline operations. Qualifications & Experience: • Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role within an SME environment. • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent). • Strong technical accounting knowledge and familiarity with UK financial regulations. • Excellent leadership skills with experience managing and developing finance teams. • Skilled in preparing and presenting financial reports to non-financial stakeholders. • Proficient in financial software; experience with Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks is advantageous. • Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
