We’re hiring a Senior Sales Engineer with a proven track record of successfully selling software or data solutions to enterprise clients, particularly within the media and broadcasting sectors. You will collaborate closely with Sales Directors to present innovative solutions tailored to the unique needs of publishers, broadcasters, and advertisers.
This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where managing expectations and aligning diverse stakeholders is key. You are comfortable diving into existing documentation, API specifications, and GitHub repositories to understand the building blocks available for us to build out-of-the-box and custom solutions for our customers. You’re eager to understand how systems and products work and autonomously capable of reverse engineering, using browser tools, and/or reading code comments to learn.
When building solutions for prospective customers you will need to be able to evaluate the full scope of work required to accomplish customer use cases. This includes being able to identify what we can do already and what we can’t do today. When you encounter "what we can’t do today" you will need to be comfortable handing off specific requirements to the product team. You will then become the liaison between prospect and product in removing assumptions from the development process for these new solutions.
As a trusted advisor you will connect technology to the needs of prospective customers. It is beneficial that you have an understanding of the advertising technology landscape and empathy for the challenges publishers and advertisers face. This role will require travel to customer engagements. The amount of travel can fluctuate based on active opportunities but is typically no more than 30% of your time.
What you’ll be doing
- Drive Revenue in the Media & Broadcasting Sector: Lead value-driven and solutions-oriented demos for prospective technical and non-technical customers, including C-suite.
- Leverage consultative approaches such as the challenger method and tell-show-tell techniques to communicate impact and address prospective customer needs effectively.
- Become a Trusted Advisor to Leading Media Enterprises: Provide technical guidance on the platform. Troubleshoot customer challenges, and lead workshops and training sessions. Lead the design, development, and execution of Proof of Concept (PoC) projects to demonstrate the value of the platform in solving customer-specific challenges.
- Develop Deep Product and Technical Expertise in Data Solutions: Communicate technical concepts and solution designs to technical and non-technical audiences. Gather customer feedback, identify market needs, and collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to influence the product roadmap. Familiarity with data warehouses and cloud infrastructure (e.g., Snowflake, GCP, AWS, Azure). Comfortable with undertaking discovery or setting up small scale tests that would include: querying a DWH during POV/POCs, configuring a cloud storage bucket for a customer to upload sample data to, configuring cloud permissions to access a customer’s BigQuery instance in order to create a materialized view.
What You’ll Need
- Technical Expertise: Comfortable working with APIs (REST, GraphQL). Able to interpret API documentation, authenticate requests, issue API calls, and process/store resulting payloads. Familiarity with tools like Postman for API testing is a plus. Experience deploying and managing cloud computing and storage resources (GCP, AWS, or similar). Capable of creating small-scale PoCs, securely accessing data warehouses, and configuring cloud permissions and storage solutions. NOTE: this does not mean you need to be deploying production ready resources. Familiarity with browser developer tools for QA purposes. Able to inspect network requests, debug API issues, and analyze webpage sources and console logs to troubleshoot effectively. Familiarity with JavaScript is a plus.
- Understanding of Data Pipelines: Awareness of ETL workflows or data movement between APIs, storage, and compute resources.
- Problem Solving & Communication: Proven ability navigating complex technical challenges and create tailored solutions for enterprise customers. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details into business value for a wide range of stakeholders. Comfortable producing workshops and technical discovery sessions and presenting to a diverse range of audiences. Worked with analytics, AI, or other enterprise platforms in a customer-facing capacity.
- Industry Knowledge: A demonstrated understanding of advertising technology and the challenges faced by publishers and advertisers in a privacy-first landscape. Understanding of the programmatic advertising landscape and technologies.
- Collaborative Mindset: Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, partnering with Sales, Product, and Engineering to deliver impactful PoCs. A solutions-oriented mindset focused on crafting innovative approaches to address customer pain points.
