We seek a strategic and data-driven Retention Marketing Manager to elevate our customer lifecycle programs, boost repeat purchases, and build lasting relationships with our community.
As our Retention Marketing Manager, you'll develop, implement, and optimize end-to-end lifecycle marketing strategies to increase customer lifetime value, amplify profitability, and maximize customer retention across lead generation, email, SMS, push notification, WhatsApp, direct mail, and loyalty channels.
- Lifecycle Automation Strategy, Management & Optimization: Strategize, implement, quality-assure, and optimize email, SMS, push notification, WhatsApp, and direct mail retention marketing automations (flows).
- Quarterly Campaign Calendar Planning: Create a quarterly broadcast campaign calendar, evaluating historical performance, upcoming key dates, brand goals, and offers to inform campaign marketing event recommendations.
- Lifecycle Campaign Strategy, Management & Optimization: Strategize, implement, quality-assure, and optimize email, SMS, push notification, WhatsApp, and direct mail retention marketing broadcast campaigns.
- Customer Segmentation & Personalization: Leverage customer and lifecycle data to build segmented, personalized, and behaviour-driven retention marketing automations, campaigns, and experiences.
- Copywriting: Craft compelling, on-brand, short, direct-response copywriting that obliterates indifference, resonates, and strikes a nerve.
- A/B Testing & Experimentation: Strategize, implement, and evaluate rigorous A/B testing on retention marketing subject lines, preview text, sender name, send times and delays, copywriting, design, content, message type, offers, call-to-actions, and landing pages to maximize engagement, submit form rates, conversion rates and revenue.
- Deliverability: Evaluate and optimize retention marketing channel deliverability to ensure optimal inbox placement and performance.
- Loyalty & Referral Programs: Manage and evolve our loyalty and referral programs to increase repeat purchases and advocacy.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on retention marketing performance, KPIs (including LTV, repeat purchase rate, churn), and optimizations, making data-backed recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design and product teams to align messaging with brand strategy and ensure a cohesive customer experience.
- Customer Insights & Trends: Stay up-to-date with retention marketing industry trends, new tools, and best practices to keep our retention marketing efforts cutting-edge.
3+ years of experience in DTC eCommerce retention/lifecycle marketing, including building flows from scratch, advanced segmentation, A/B testing, and performance reporting. Experience with additional retention marketing platforms such as Mailchimp forms, PushOwl (push notifications), Charles (WhatsApp), and PostPilot (direct mail) is a strong plus. Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven marketing and retention marketing KPI tracking. Proven track record of increasing CLTV and reducing churn through creative retention tactics. Excellent copywriting and content review skills, with an eye for on-brand tone and visual storytelling. Understanding of customer psychology and behaviour-based marketing. Deep experience strategizing and running A/B experiments to optimize performance. Ability to manage multiple retention marketing channels and deadlines efficiently.
