We are currently expanding our team to support growth of the business. We are looking for experienced HR professionals to join our fast paced and innovative team as People Advisors. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative team, working together to support each other and to provide high quality HR advice to our education clients.

Primarily home based, you will also occasionally travel to schools to provide onsite support when needed. In addition to the benefit of working from home, we collaborate regularly with team members and arrange frequent face to face team meetings. This is a varied and interesting position with scope for progression within the business.

We are looking for individuals with a proven track record of delivering generic HR guidance. Ideally you will have worked within an education setting but this isn’t essential providing you are willing to learn. Full support will be provided. We are looking for people with a proactive and innovative approach to their work who enjoys working within a team.

We work in a flexible manner, supporting each other and managing our own diaries. We communicate on a regular basis so you will always feel supported in your role.

We are open to flexible working and welcome applications for individuals who would like to be considered on a full or part time basis including full year or term time only.

Due to the location of our client base, we are looking for people who are located in the Kent and surrounding areas.

Job Description

What you’ll be doing:

Support on the application of HR policies and procedures, conditions of service and employment law. This includes the provision of remote support and where required, attendance and support at meetings, trade union consultations, hearings and appeals, and preparation of letters and reports, in relation to a range of employment relation issues.

  1. To deliver the full range of professional human resources services to clients, producing work of the highest possible standard, while complying with employment legislation and statutory regulations, policies and procedures, and in accordance with client contracts.
  2. To provide an accurate and timely remote HR service, responding to telephone and email enquiries and supporting HR cases, ensuring accurate and timely recording of information.
  3. To ensure a customer centric approach in the provision of services to support client retention.
  4. To deliver HR projects such as policy development work as and when required.
  5. To provide onsite support for clients as required, including advising at meetings, hearings, appeals, investigations.
  6. To work closely with an allocated client group to build relationships, ascertain their business requirements and work with them to achieve results.
  7. To ensure client retention through effective relationship management and also identify opportunities to develop and grow the business.
  8. To be an effective team player who contributes to the overall success of the HR function, supporting colleagues and teams when required.

What we’re looking for:

  1. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development in HR.
  2. HR related Qualification/Accreditation/ or willing to work towards.
  3. A background of providing quality advice and guidance on high risk or complex HR casework.
  4. The ability to manage a varied workload.
  5. Managing high risk employee relation matters.
  6. Current knowledge, understanding and practical application of employment legislation and issues including diversity in employment.
  7. Experience of handling difficult and sensitive redundancy, discipline, absence, capability and grievance casework.
  8. Experience of establishing credibility with clients and communicating simply and persuasively about HR issues.
  9. Experience of working directly with clients to resolve HR issues.
  10. Examples of working and consulting with trade unions, or other stakeholders.
  11. An individual who could drive and/or be willing to access public transport to meet client needs.
