Job description: Scrum Master
Overall purpose of role: A Scrum Master with a strong technical background and experience of JAVA and APIs. Able to maintain change backlog and work as part of wider BFA team to deliver against Change agenda.
What we’re looking for:
- Certified Scrum Master
- 5-7 years as Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager
- 5-7 years in Agile Development Environment
- Thorough understanding of full end to end SDLC
- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment and increasing transparency
Key Accountabilities:
- Facilitation of all Scrum Ceremonies, including daily scrum calls and backlog prioritisation, feeding into wider Data Platform Prioritisation where appropriate
- Providing clear and structured status updates to various Stakeholders and Consumers
- Liaising, and working closely, with Project Managers or Product Owners, keeping them updated on progress against milestones, risks, issues and budget control
- Provide input to the technical development approach of a project, balancing cost, time, quality and risk.
- Assist in the identification, management and resolution of technical Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies (RAIDs).
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- Scrum Master / Agile experience (Certification is an advantage)
- Experience of software and solution design across distributed and integrated architectures.
- Hands on technical experience building / implementing software.
- Experience of working in Financial Services
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
- End-to-end software development lifecycle
- Agile Software development methodologies
- Awareness of leading-edge tools, techniques and services within IT
- Software development consisting of some of the following languages and technologies:
- Using Java (Servlets, JSPs, EJB, Javascript)
- J2EE Frameworks (Spring, Springboot)
- Databases (Oracle / DB2 / SQL / IMS DEDB)
- Webservices / knowledge of WSDL – SOAP & REST / RAML
- API development (Basics of APIs)
- Application servers (Websphere, Weblogic, JBoss, Tomcat)
- Cloud deployments fundamentals (AWS / Private cloud)
- Version Control Software (Git / Bitbucket)
