My client, a leading Energy company, are looking for a Digital Forensic Analyst to join their international team and conduct end-to-end digital forensic investigations—acquiring, analysing, and preserving evidence—to support incident response and legal proceedings. Please note this will be a minimum 12-month contract, inside IR35.
Skills/Experience (required):
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on digital forensics experience (corporate or consulting).
- Proficiency with forensic suites (EnCase, FTK, X-Ways) and open-source tools (Volatility, Autopsy).
- Strong understanding of chain-of-custody principles and legal evidence handling.
- Experience preparing reports and providing expert testimony.
- Digital forensics certifications (e.g., GCFA, GCFE) preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical findings for non-technical audiences.
- Active participation in professional forensics associations is a plus. communication skills.
Responsibilities (will include, but not be limited to):
- Manage and prioritise multiple forensic casework assignments, ensuring adherence to SLAs.
- Acquire and preserve digital evidence using approved techniques, maintaining full chain-of-custody.
- Perform in-depth analysis of systems, networks, memory dumps, and ESI data sources.
- Document all findings in thorough, defensible technical reports suitable for internal stakeholders and external legal entities.
- Provide expert testimony or technical briefings as required.
- Test and validate new forensic tools and software upgrades to ensure operational readiness.
- Collaborate with incident response, legal, and compliance teams to address root causes and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Stay current on forensic methodologies through ongoing training and community engagement.
