Information Asset Register Lead

Our client is launching an innovative data cataloging initiative using Microsoft Purview to transform how data assets are documented, classified, and protected. They are seeking an Information Asset Register Lead to spearhead this critical project, working closely with senior data leaders to enhance data quality, compliance, and accessibility.

Location: Reading office, Hybrid (2 days on-site required)

Salary: Up to £69,840 per annum depending on experience

The Information Asset Register Lead will:

• Implement Microsoft Purview as the enterprise data catalog solution
• Develop systematic approaches to discover and document data resources
• Create classification frameworks based on sensitivity and business importance
• Map data flows to establish clear lineage documentation
• Coordinate with security teams on appropriate access management
• Monitor and report on data quality metrics across systems
• Configure automated policy enforcement mechanisms
• Build relationships with stakeholders from technical and business teams
• Design and deliver Purview training programs for users across functions
• Stay current with emerging capabilities in data catalog technologies
• Contribute to the evolution of enterprise data strategy

The Information Asset Register Lead will have:

• Demonstrated experience implementing Azure Purview in enterprise environments
• Strong foundation in data governance frameworks and methodologies
• Working knowledge of Azure data ecosystem components
• Practical understanding of data security and regulatory requirements (GDPR)
• Experience with complementary data tools (Power BI, SQL Server)
• Track record of successful cross-functional project delivery
• Ability to manage complex data initiatives from concept to implementation
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Adaptability to rapidly evolving technology landscape
• Hands-on experience with Purview/Databricks Unity Catalog and SAP integrations
