I am working with a leading financial services PR agency who are seeking a media relations professional to join them. My client is open to Senior Account Manager, Account Director, Senior Account Director and Associate Director levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media relations, with a particular focus on financial services, investment trusts, and wealth management sectors.

The day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of PR accounts, ensuring clients’ strategic objectives are being met.
  • Develop and implement media strategies, leveraging strong relationships with key financial, business, and trade journalists.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and delivery of impactful public relations.
  • An active approach on the accounts is crucial – from liaising with clients to speaking to the media.
  • Mentoring team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Development. Support growth through pitching, proposal development, and expanding existing client accounts.
  • Provide senior counsel to clients on media strategy, issues and crisis communications, and positioning.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and media developments in the financial sector to offer insightful advice to clients.
  • Oversee the creation of thought leadership content, press materials, and integrated communication strategies (depending on level).
  • Ensure client needs are being met effectively.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key financial services media and industry players.
  • Communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders.
