Our client is a large, highly profitable, growing and ambitious service business that has grown from scratch to c.£400m sales and over 600 staff in approx. 15 years. Constantly changing, its finance department and many of its people have grown and progressed with the company and the function is now c.30 people strong. The company is now on the next stage of its phenomenal journey and were now looking to help further strengthen the Management Accounting team, by appointing a first-rate Management Accountant as a no.2 to its manager. Reporting directly to the Head of Management Accounting and supporting/mentoring colleagues, you will take a key role in assisting in the deliver the Management Accounts for internal and external stakeholders of the organisation, to aid strategic decision-making. Your key responsibilities as Management Accountant will include: Preparation of accurate monthly/quarterly Management Accounts with relevant insights/commentary (P&L, Balance Sheet and cash flow) Preparing and reviewing reconciliations to verify the accuracy of the management accounts, and perform monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date variance analysis to budget and prior year on P&L. Approval of journals Continuously monitor financial KPIs, P&L, cash position and balance sheet, identifying variances and recommending areas for improvement Preparation and review of monthly reporting packs and production and review of ad hoc reporting as requested. Business partnering with internal stakeholders (FP&A, Internal Audit and Financial Reporting teams) to assist with their decision-making Assisting in the delivery of and consolidation of management accounts Carrying out in depth analysis to improve the accuracy of revenue and cost accruals Providing support in response to external and internal audit requests Supporting ongoing finance transformation project and and contributing to the successful testing and rollout of a new ERP system Continuous improvement to improve process control, quality of data input, output and accuracy of postings Fostering collaboration across the other teams within the Finance department to ensure opportunities to improve finance systems, processes and client service are identified and addressed Acting as a systems administrator for finance and banking systems Assisting in developing junior members of the team, through training, knowledge and skill sharing required to deliver their individual and team objectives Monitor the quality of work and identify areas of knowledge gaps for training opportunities to lead and drive high performance As Management Accountant youll offer: Strong, hands-on commercial experience gained in a Management Accountant, Finance Business Partner, Site Accountant, Finance Manager, Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar role, preferably with some exposure supervising/managing a team. Ideally experienced in a challenging, fast-moving, service driven environment – practice or industry/commerce Qualification in CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent A progressive, proactive, resilient and highly flexible/adaptable outlook, with a first class attitude and work ethic.
