We are looking for a Senior Design Manager to join our Natural Resources team, working from home and the Falmer office, East Sussex. You will be working on our new 7-year, c£1bn framework with Southern Water.
Location: Agile working from home and the Falmer office, East Sussex
Contract: Permanent, Full Time - flexible and part time hours may be available if desired.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering design delivery for assigned projects.
- Spearhead and optimise the engineering assurance process for designs prepared by partners at outline design and Capital Delivery partners at tender and construction design.
- Develop strategies including in-depth consideration of various alternatives and options to find the best/preferred solution.
- Ensure that the design solution is fully understood by engaging with the client and using your experience of asset management to offer solutions.
- Fulfil the role of main point of contact with the design consultants at director level to ensure the correct level of technical performance.
- Provide expert engineering support to the design, construction and commissioning process from project definition through to detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover of capital schemes.
What are we looking for?
- Chartered Engineer status with a degree level qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
- Significant, proven relevant engineering design, construction and management experience.
- Experience of managing and driving a multi-discipline technical/engineering team with a proven track record of driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets.
- Significant knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
- Experience in the application of quality procedures and document control in engineering design.
