Travelport is the brains behind lots of your travel bookings- plane, car or hotel. Our technology is used to book that magical holiday, infamous bachelorette party or long overdue school reunion. While we can’t solve mosquito bites or lost luggage, we can simplify a lot of the technical parts of travel, and we’re looking for the best thinkers to help us do it.
This is an exciting graduate entry opportunity to join a small in-house events team to help drive our presence at third party events, tradeshows, and conferences in support of sales strategies and pipeline generation. You’ll be entrusted to help deliver on our own Travelport sponsored events that achieve high growth goals for customer attendance and engagement. The Marketing Events team sits in our Customer Marketing Organization (CMO) and engages across all CMO teams, as well as with the wider business.
You will be a key team member, contributing to the global events team by delivering memorable experiences that amplify our brand’s presence and connect meaningfully with our audiences. You will engage with our CMO leaders/stakeholders and their teams. You will instill confidence through credibility, as you have a high “say to do” ratio and engage proactively. You will build a strong network, partnering to maximize impact and modeling the tenets of our brand, encouraging others to do the same.
Your role in action:
- Work collaboratively with teams across the business to oversee successful planning and execution of events in line with the annual event plan; help manage event budgets, work with vendors, and provide input on logistics, including booth design and build, venue/space selection, catering, audio-visual requirements, and event collateral (marketing materials, SWAG etc.) – ensuring the best price points are being achieved.
- Work with event team to create an immersive event experience, ensuring that employees, customers, and prospects receive optimal onsite support and engagement, and all onsite operational and administrative functions are well supported.
- Assist team in creating end-to-end visibility and overall coordination of event-related workstreams, especially pre-event execution (booth design and build, content, branding, sales engagement and readiness, and awareness through digital and social media) - and post-event execution, to evaluate event performance, commercial impact, provide post-event reporting and lessons learned to optimize future events.
- Travel to on-site events as needed to provide event support.
- Adopt a mindset of continuous improvement across all elements of event infrastructure to streamline process, collaboration, and execution - plus reporting on ROI and business value based on objectives.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor events, and best practices to bring innovative, fun, creative and resourceful ideas to enhance event plans and experience.
- Support onboarding of Marketing interns and other new hires into the function.
