Location: Avonmouth

Salary: £35,000 depending on experience

Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm | Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm

Job Purpose: We are seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented Estimator. Reporting to the Sales Director and Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the pricing strategy to secure work at the right margins. Your ability to quantify flooring works, interpret drawings, and produce competitive quotations will be central to helping drive business growth. You’ll work across multiple tenders, liaise with clients, and provide accurate, timely costings—bringing both commercial awareness and technical insight to the role.

Main Duties:

  • Quantify flooring works from drawings and specifications using Callidus and other digital tools.
  • Prepare detailed costings and competitive tenders for commercial flooring projects.
  • Interpret architectural and construction drawings specific to flooring scopes.
  • Assess and price project variations efficiently and accurately.
  • Produce and submit clear, concise, and competitive flooring quotations.
  • Assist with bid preparation and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement Manager to negotiate pricing and secure supplier discounts.
  • Obtain and assess supplier/subcontractor quotes to ensure value for money.
  • Research and analyse costs for flooring materials, adhesives, labour, and equipment.
  • Identify and evaluate project-specific risks during the pricing stage.
  • Support the commercial team with pre-construction planning and budgeting.
  • Monitor and evaluate pricing strategy success through analysis of win rates and post-project reviews.
  • Engage with clients and main contractors to fully understand project requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial and Sales departments to support business growth.
  • Manage multiple tenders and quotations simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Work under pressure to meet tight deadlines across concurrent projects.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in Callidus or similar flooring-specific take-off software.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and digital document systems/portals.
  • Precision and exceptional attention to detail.
