This Personal Tax Manager job in Maidenhead is an incredible chance for a self-motivated, success-driven candidate to join a well-established accountancy firm.

We’re looking for an ATT and/or CTA qualified or qualified by relevant experience candidate with a proven track record of supporting clients within practice. You’ll have at least 4 years’ tax experience, as well as excellent communication skills and a constructive approach to mentorship. You’ll be a team player, proactive problem solver, and strategic thinker.

Job Purpose:

  • Managing a diverse and significant client portfolio, including personal tax compliance and advisory
  • Aiding business development by taking new client calls and providing service quotes
  • Working hand-in-hand with Tax Managers to provide ongoing support
  • Managing the team to ensure the delivery of timely, high-quality tax services
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and returns
  • Nurturing client relationships and attending regular client meetings
  • Drafting financial statements and overseeing billing and WIP management
  • Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing constructive feedback
  • Leading liaison with HMRC, including preparing letters for senior review and reviewing letters prepared by junior staff
  • Dealing with compliance work, including payment advice letters
  • Working closely with other departments, clients and directors
  • Monitoring the commercial aspects of portfolio management, ensuring deadlines and fee recovery targets are met
  • Keeping up-to-date with tax knowledge, championing knowledge sharing across the team
  • Delegating work to junior staff, overseeing workflow and quality control

The Successful Applicant:

  • ACA or CTA qualified with at least 4 years’ practice experience
  • Qualified by extensive experience would also be considered
  • Transferrable skillset across taxation
  • Able to conduct research autonomously and ask questions where required
  • Hands-on, can-do attitude
  • Eager to provide feedback on performance and lead development
  • Sound leadership skills
