We are seeking a dynamic and creative Design and Technology Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school on a supply basis until the end of the academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students in areas such as product design, resistant materials, graphics, and/or food technology, depending on specialism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective DT lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Teach a variety of topics within the Design and Technology curriculum in line with national guidelines.
- Plan, prepare, and assess student work to promote progression and high achievement.
- Ensure a safe and productive learning environment within practical workshop settings.
- Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental planning where required.
- Support students with practical tasks, including the use of tools and machinery (as appropriate).
- Maintain a strong classroom presence and uphold behaviour expectations in line with school policy.
- Liaise with colleagues and parents/carers to support student progress and wellbeing.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary level.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to a new school environment and work collaboratively with staff.
- A proactive, creative, and flexible approach to teaching.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Desirable:
- Specialism in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Food Technology.
- Experience working with a range of student abilities and needs.
