Role Purpose The Homeless Casework Service was established to help applicants who are homeless or living in temporary accommodation to move into suitable and sustainable housing. The Resettlement team works collaboratively with partners to move households into suitable housing and improve housing sustainment. Within the Homeless Casework Service, the Resettlement Team will provide specialist housing and support pathways for single homeless applicants with more complex needs. Responsibilities To provide excellent customer service to homeless applicants and key partner To provide specialist homelessness casework to single applicants with complex support needs leaving institutions, ensuring that all aspects of casework are carried out in accordance with legislation, strategies, policies and initiatives set out at the national, regional and local level – through effective and regular case work supervision, advice, guidance and support. Collaborate with internal and external partners to improve outcomes for single homeless applicants with complex needs and housing needs. Contribute to embedding safeguarding best practice across the wider Housing Advisory Service. Contribute to the development of the Homeless Casework Service and wider Housing Advisory Service. Requirements Significant experience of providing specialist homelessness casework to single homeless applicants with more complex needs, such as applicants leaving institutions including prisons and hospitals Experience working in a council or housing association Significant experience of working collaboratively to improve outcomes for single homeless applicants with more complex needs, such as applicants leaving institutions Ability and experience to consistently deliver high levels of customer service to single homeless applicants with more complex needs Ability and experience of ensuring all aspects of casework is carried out in accordance with legislation, strategies Contract Initial 3 month contract with the opportunity to extend PAYE via Umbrella Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm This period closes on Monday December 9 2024 at 18:00.
