We're partnering with a respected and well-established automotive dealership to recruit a Local Business Development Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team, backed by a premium vehicle brand, where you'll be given the tools, training, and autonomy to succeed.
The Opportunity
In this field-based role, you’ll be targeting local businesses across the Wakefield and West Yorkshire area. Your focus will be on identifying opportunities for contract hire, lease, and purchase of vehicles, offering tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of each client.
This is a role for someone who isn’t afraid to knock on doors, start conversations, and follow through with exceptional service. You’ll be fully supported by a forward-thinking management team, but given the independence to build and manage your own pipeline.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Proactively generate new leads and opportunities through networking, prospecting, and door-to-door outreach
- Build strong relationships with small to medium-sized businesses across the region
- Present tailored finance, lease, and purchase options for premium vehicles
- Manage the full sales cycle from first contact to vehicle handover
- Keep up to date with training and brand knowledge via a dedicated automotive academy
- Consistently meet or exceed achievable sales targets
Who We’re Looking For
- Ideally, experience in B2B sales within the automotive sector, though not essential
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Someone with ambition, credibility, and the resilience to work independently
- A natural self-starter who thrives on hitting targets and driving growth
- You may come from another sales background or be new to the industry - attitude, energy, and ambition are key

Additional Info
The role is based in Wakefield. You’ll be expected to be office-based during the initial training period to get up to speed with systems, processes, and the team culture before transitioning into a more field-based schedule.
