We are looking for a Property Paralegal to join our Property and Commercial Law Team to help support our diverse property portfolio. As a Property Paralegal, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to the Property and Commercial Law Team. You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks related to the management and legal processes of our property portfolio, supporting residential property transactions, dealing with customer queries, and ensuring all legal requirements are met within statutory timescales. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to grow their legal career while making a positive impact in the housing sector.
Main job responsibilities:
- Process preserved Right to Buy (PRTB), Right to Acquire (RTA) and Voluntary Right to Buy (VRTB) efficiently within statutory timescales, assessing eligibility, requesting valuations, and issuing relevant notices.
- Handle customer enquiries, offering advice and guidance over the phone or in-person as needed.
- Manage post-sale queries related to PRTB, RTA’s, land sales, discount repayments, and letters of postponement.
- Compile Management Information Packs, complete forms (FME1, LPE1), and handle associated fees and queries.
- Process applications for Certificate of Compliance and assist in land and property transactions, including auction sales and shared ownership staircasing.
- Maintain and update the Geological Information System, case management systems, and property files electronically.
- Download Office Copies Registers and Plans from the Land Registry portal and submit post-completion registrations.
- Generate reports for management and track progress via internal systems.
- Provide administrative assistance as needed, including distribution of team post and attending meetings or training sessions.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience of working in a similar environment is preferable, however proven experience of providing high quality administrative support is essential.
- Previous experience of working within a legal team undertaking conveyancing is desirable.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages.
- Experience of using systems to monitor workload and case management.
- Experience of producing accurate and timely documentation to high standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication skills with ability to interact with a variety of people including customer interactions (phone and face to face).
- Ability to undertake analysis and production of reports to management.
- Ability to work flexibly and in a team environment, and to be able to prioritise work to meet a range of deadlines.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset with the ability to work in a team environment and be supportive of others.
