Our client requires a Tax Manager, reporting directly to the Tax Director. You will play a pivotal role in reviewing and completing tax returns for a diverse client portfolio. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to drive growth by contributing to the development of an expanding advisory function. You can expect the following tasks to be part of this role:

  • Managing P11Ds efficiently and accurately.
  • Overseeing personal tax returns, providing guidance to junior staff on technical queries.
  • Completing complex tax returns with a high level of accuracy.
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for clients, attending meetings as required and delivering strategic business and tax advisory services.
  • Liaising with external bodies, such as HMRC, to promptly resolve client queries.
  • Assisting the Tax Director with advisory projects and providing ad hoc tax advice to clients.
  • Leading, developing, and mentoring a small team, fostering a client-focused and supportive environment.
  • Contributing to monthly management meetings, driving both operational and cultural improvements.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • CTA qualified (or equivalent) with post-qualification experience and a proven track record managing diverse client portfolios in accounting practices.
  • Strong technical expertise in personal tax, capital allowances for sole traders and partnerships, and a solid understanding of Corporation Tax.
  • Comprehensive tax advisory knowledge, including IHT, CGT, Income Tax, and Company Tax, with experience addressing complex tax issues and advising owner-managed businesses and families.
  • Client-focused approach, excelling at building and maintaining strong relationships while delivering holistic advisory services.
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring and developing teams to achieve success.
