Contract: 3-months with strong potential for extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (37 hours per week)

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is looking for a Transport Officer to join their All Age Commissioning team.

The role:

You’ll be responsible for managing transport contracts and supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality transport for children and adults, including those with SEND and social care needs. This includes liaising with transport providers, supporting eligibility panels, and ensuring services meet required standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and monitoring transport contracts
  • Supporting transport eligibility decisions
  • Working with families, professionals, and internal teams to assess needs
  • Ensuring compliance with policy and legislation
  • Producing reports and supporting tender processes

Requirements:

  • Experience in commissioning, contract management, or transport services
  • Strong communication and IT skills
  • Good understanding of transport and social care legislation
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
