The Copthorne Hotel Aberdeen is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to assist the Head Chef with the smooth operation of the Kitchen
What are we expecting from a Junior Sous Chef?
Guiding and supporting the Kitchen team, ensuring they have the skills required to deliver an excellent standard of food
A hands-on approach, getting involved in the day-day running of the Kitchen
Supporting the Head Chef in planning menus within cost targets
Controlling food costs and achieving gross profit targets (including monitoring waste)
Ensuring processes are in place to achieve high standards of cleanliness, consistently
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements
What we are looking for
Proven track recordas a Junior Sous chef/Senior Chef de Partie within a quality hotel
Ability to lead and effectively supervise the kitchen team
High standards of hygiene and Health & Safety controls
Knowledge of computerised ordering system
Enthusiastic and motivated with an eye for detail and accuracy
The ability to work 5 shifts out of 7 on a rota basis, weekend work is included

The Copthorne Hotel Aberdeen, is a beautifully maintained historic building situated in the heart of Aberdeens West End and provides convenient access to surrounding areas. The hotel offers 87 bedrooms, all with modern amenities.
The Grain Store Bistro & Bar offers a warm and friendly atmosphere with something for everyone from our delicious menu, lighter meals are available in the bar area. Our Aberdon Function Suite, with private bar is ideal for conferences, exhibitions, private events and weddings.
