Company Summary: They are a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance.

Position Summary: This role is to help continually improve and assess the manufacturing process within the weld department, continually reviewing drawing and standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for creating Bill of Materials (MBOM's)
  • Creating weld documentation such as weld maps and drawings
  • Complete work analysis and labour studies (Kaizen)
  • Working on layout of workstations and storage areas
  • Working on design and acquisitions of jigs and other fixtures
  • Continual evaluations of tooling
  • Updating processes and documentation on IT Systems
  • Create lesson plans for Production Team
  • Promote best and safe practice
  • Support audits
  • Make methods and quality improvements

Qualifications:

  • Degree, HNC or HND (engineering)
  • Experience in an Engineering Manufacturing environment ideally Welding / fabrication
  • Good HSE knowledge
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in computerised business tools (SAP and MS Office such as Excel and Word)
