Role Overview

Seeking a dedicated and detail-focused Compliance Manager to lead on all aspects of regulatory and safety compliance, particularly in relation to fire safety systems and projects in the social housing sector. This role will ensure we meet and exceed legal, contractual, and NICEIC standards while safeguarding residents, clients, and operatives across all projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure company operations and projects meet all current regulatory and legal obligations (e.g., Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, HSE).
  • Fire Systems Oversight: Lead compliance and inspections for active fire systems (alarms, sprinklers, emergency lighting, etc.).
  • Social Housing Focus: Understand and ensure compliance with the specific requirements of social housing providers and housing associations.
  • Policy & Procedure: Develop, implement, and maintain internal compliance procedures and training.
  • Auditing & Reporting: Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments; report findings to senior leadership and external bodies when required.
  • Certification & Standards: Maintain NICEIC, ISO, and other relevant accreditations, working closely with the quality assurance team.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies on all compliance-related matters.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in a compliance, HSEQ, or safety-focused role within the construction or building services industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of fire safety regulations and systems (especially in residential or social housing settings).
  • Familiarity with NICEIC standards and electrical compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting audits, inspections, and preparing documentation for external regulators.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in or with social housing providers.
  • Relevant compliance certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, Fire Safety, ISO Auditor).
  • Understanding of building services and MEP environments.
