Are you a Textile Designer with a passion for contemporary design, looking for an opportunity to work for a market leading interior textile brand? Our small team is expanding, and we are looking to recruit a mid-weight designer who has proven experience within the sector. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and busy design studio working alongside a team of designers on a variety of tasks.
Part of The Romo Group, Zinc Textile launched in 2010. Creating inspirational fabrics, wallcoverings and accessories, each collection brings a fresh perspective that is not tied to trend, but rather focuses on intriguing and spontaneous designs hallmarked by texture and an array of confident patterns. We design home textile and wallcovering collections that launch annually to our global customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working in collaboration with the design team to assist in creative processes, where possible including design work
- Supporting the day to day running of the design studio with ad hoc tasks
- Liaising with suppliers to make enquiries & give development feedback for the design studio
- Helping to arrange performance and compliance testing of new product
- Attending supplier meetings, focusing on fabric and wallcovering developments
- Supporting the design team with trend and colour research
- Assisting with photo shoots
We are looking for people with:
- A high achieving degree in Textile Design or similar qualification
- Excellent drawing skills and fluency in Photoshop, to create original artwork and colours
- A keen eye for colour sensitivity and an understanding of colour balance and proportions
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with other relevant departments and suppliers
- Flexibility with task and time management
- Can do attitude with a creative yet practical approach to hands on tasks
