Shorterm group are currently working with an executive jet MRO, chartering and purchasing company. We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategic Aircraft Purchaser to join my client's procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and acquiring new and pre-owned aircraft, negotiating purchase agreements, and ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have deep industry knowledge, strong supplier relationships, and expertise in aircraft valuation and market trends to support fleet expansion and optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience in sourcing Bombardier Challenger/Global aircraft; Leonardo 109/155 purchasing experience is an advantage.
- Established contacts and knowledge of aircraft part-out/breaking locations.
- Identify and evaluate aircraft purchase opportunities based on company needs, budget, and market availability.
- Ability to locate rare and off-market parts beyond traditional platforms like PartsBase/ILS.
- Prepare complex Excel-based quotes detailing assembly and part breakdowns.
- Negotiate purchase agreements, lease contracts, and financing options with manufacturers, brokers, and sellers.
- Conduct due diligence, inspections, and regulatory compliance checks to ensure seamless acquisitions.
- Work closely with finance, legal, and operations teams to facilitate smooth transactions.
- Monitor procurement budgets and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Maintain strong partnerships with OEMs, leasing companies, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders.
- Provide insights and recommendations for fleet optimization and aircraft replacement strategies.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years in aircraft procurement, sales, leasing, or a related aviation role.
- Understanding of aviation regulations (FAA, EASA), aircraft financing structures, technical specifications, valuation methods, and maintenance requirements.
- Strong financial analysis, negotiation, and contract management capabilities.
- Familiarity with procurement tools such as Aerotrack or Veryon is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with vendors and stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple procurement projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with airlines, charter operators, or aircraft leasing companies (both rotary and fixed-wing).
- Certifications in aviation procurement.
Location: Oxfordshire
Salary: up to £50,000 per annum
Shift: Days - Monday to Friday in office (occasional weekends)
