We are seeking a Contractor Management Lead to join our Facilities Management team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in implementing Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and ensuring the smooth operation of the Contractor Management Office within a complex, multidisciplinary science and research site.

With a highly interesting and dynamic environment, this role provides a unique chance to make a real impact while developing your expertise in contractor management, safety compliance, and site operations. You will be responsible for overseeing the safe, compliant, and consistent management of contractors, ensuring all Site Authority to Work Documents, Permits to Work, and SSOW processes are completed to the highest standard.

You will work closely with client stakeholders, internal teams, and third-party contractors to manage critical site activities and uphold the highest levels of safety, compliance, and performance.   • Oversee the efficient operation of the Contractor Management Office.
  • Review and approve Site Authority to Work Documents and Permits to Work.
  • Collaborate with contractors and procurement teams to maintain high standards.
  • Verify contractor paperwork and ensure adherence to RAMS.
  • Skilled in managing work at height, hot works, excavations, and fire/life safety systems.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety legislation, including CDM, CSCS, NEBOSH.
  • Cable avoidance training, including HSG47 guidance (advantageous).
  • Experience managing or supervising a small team in a permit office/SSOW environment.
  • Construction and Temporary Works experience with a diplomatic approach.
