MIG Welder – Full-Time | Temp-Perm

Major Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established client in Leicester who is expanding their fabrication team due to continued business growth. We are currently looking to recruit a time-served MIG Welder to join their operations on a full-time basis.

Salary + Hours

  • £14.00 - £17 per hour (depending on experience and skill level)
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:45
  • Friday: 07:30 – 12:30

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out high-quality MIG welding on mild steel components and structures
  • Occasionally weld stainless steel, depending on project requirements
  • Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
  • Work to varied tolerances, including tight specifications where required
  • Prepare, tack, weld, and finish components to a high standard
  • Conduct visual and dimensional checks on completed welds
  • Operate safely and efficiently within a busy fabrication workshop
  • Support a range of projects – from one-off bespoke work to repeat production runs

Requirements:

  • Time-served MIG Welder with proven experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in welding mild steel (essential) and stainless steel (preferred)
  • Ability to work from detailed technical drawings and weld symbols
  • Skilled in producing strong, clean welds across various thicknesses
  • Experience working to tight tolerances and ensuring weld quality
  • Ability to manage workloads effectively and work well as part of a team
