We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead the internals package on a major new-build education project in Cardiff, valued at £53 million. This is a freelance/contract role starting around early August 2025, with the potential to commence slightly earlier depending on project needs.
The Role:
You will head up the entire internals section of this large-scale build and act as the key point of contact for all internal trades. Working closely with the Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for coordinating a sizeable on-site team, including:
- 1 x Site Manager (reporting to you)
- General Foreman
- Finishing Foreman
- Direct labour force
You’ll also be leading internals meetings, managing the day-to-day programme for fit-out works, and ensuring packages are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standard.
Requirements:
- Senior Site Manager level experience on major projects (not Site Manager level)
- Proven experience with Tier 1 contractors
- Background in education builds is highly advantageous
- Strong leadership and coordination skills
- Excellent knowledge of internal trades and sequencing
- Able to manage a large workforce and liaise effectively with subcontractors and consultants
