A Medical Field Service Engineer is required for Surgical Microscopy & Ophthalmic Instrumentation in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire, covering areas such as Luton, Bedford, Cambridge, Peterborough, Stevenage, Welwyn Garden City, St Albans, Hatfield, Letchworth, Huntingdon, Royston, Biggleswade, St Ives, Sandy & St Neots.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ex-HM Forces Engineer (REME, Navy or RAF), or an experienced Medical Engineer or Service Engineer with a background in high value electronic/electrical capital equipment, optics, lasers, medical devices, laboratory devices or semiconductor process equipment, to join a global market leading supplier of sophisticated medical devices.
The company is a worldwide leading manufacturer of technically advanced optical, microscopy and electronic visualisation systems, trusted by scientific and healthcare professionals to deliver ‘best in class’ product solutions across key markets, including life science research and drug discovery, medical systems and semiconductor manufacture.
The role involves planned preventative maintenance, service, breakdown and repair of leading edge fully networked electronic optical medical systems, dedicated to a broad range of medical applications including optometry, dentistry, radiotherapy, surgical microscopy, digital visualisation, neurosurgery and gynaecology. This position is home based and will involve travelling to hospitals, healthcare centres and medical establishments throughout the region.
Suitable candidates will need to possess a qualification in electronics, engineering or science, and have experience working as an HM Forces Engineer (REME, Navy or RAF), or as a Medical Engineer or Field Service Engineer, working on other high-value capital equipment. Full and extensive product training will be provided.
