A UK-based insurance and finance company are looking to bring a Senior BI Developer onto their team.

In this position you will play a crucial role in helping to redesign and improve the flow of data within the company. You will be working alongside a dedicated data team. While there are no direct line management responsibilities, you will be expected to lead the delegation of tasks and guide the team’s workflow. The role will also involve collaborating with a range of stakeholders across product, solution design, and IT, focusing on improving data systems and reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data mapping and working with various data sources to ensure seamless integration into new systems.
  • Rebuilding legacy reporting and redesigning data structures for better insights.
  • Developing and optimizing SQL queries to pull data from disparate data warehouses.
  • Building and maintaining SSIS pipelines or Azure Data Factory (ADF) to support ETL processes.
  • Creating visually appealing reports and dashboards using Power BI.
  • Communicating with stakeholders—ensuring clarity in data-related discussions and helping them interpret insights effectively.
  • Working in an Agile environment, contributing to iterative development cycles.
Skills and Experience:
  • Strong experience in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with SSIS or Azure Data Factory for building ETL pipelines.
  • Proven experience building Power BI reports with a strong eye for visual storytelling (Tableau also acceptable).
  • Comfortable working with disparate data sources and integrating data across multiple systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills—ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • A background in BI Engineering or BI Development.
Assessment Process:
  • Online Assessment: 1-hour test covering general quantitative and inductive reasoning.
  • Interview: Skills-based interview, including a presentation where you’ll discuss your approach to a typical project and how you would tackle key challenges in the role.
