The Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of a new student residence with over 600 bed spaces. This role includes managing front-of-house reception services, leading a team, and working closely with a third-party facilities provider to ensure a high standard of service and a positive student experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the reception team to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Oversee staff performance, training, rotas, and development.
- Ensure hall operations meet financial, service, and regulatory targets.
- Act as a key user for software systems including property management, parcel tracking, finance, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with the facilities provider to ensure quality housekeeping, maintenance, and security services.
- Coordinate emergency responses and assist with operational issues.
- Contribute to sustainability efforts and support refurbishment projects.
- Maintain accurate records in line with data protection and financial policies.
- Handle complaints and feedback, and ensure high levels of student satisfaction.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience managing a team in a customer-facing environment.
- Experience delivering excellent customer service in the hospitality sector.
- Knowledge of student accommodation within the Higher Education sector or Hospitality.
- Prior experience using a Property Management System.
- Competence in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel) and collaborative tools (MS Teams, SharePoint, Zoom).
Monday – Friday 9am-5pm
