MBNL deliver the mobile infrastructure that enables digital Britain. This is achieved by providing Property, Infrastructure and Operational services to EE/BT and Three.
The Infrastructure directorate is accountable for the design, deployment and in life management of site infrastructure to meet safety, service and deployment requirements and enable EE/BT and Three to deliver their best customer experiences at the lowest cost.
Reporting into the MBNL Design Team and collaborating with industry experts on real-time on-site design works and issues, the Project Engineer will play a key role in solving real world engineering challenges, keeping the sites on MBNL’s network safe and operational. This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week onsite in our Central Reading office.
What you will do:
- Conduct technical evaluations of on-site issues to assess impact on safety and accessibility.
- Shape site solutions by developing clear and effective Scopes of Work for Contractors to make sure site issues are addressed efficiently with the right technical approach.
- Research sites’ history to assist in providing a more rounded and informed solution.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) & internal teams so design solutions are fit for purpose.
- Package design solutions to an accessible design pack to facilitate handover to Contractors and the MBNL Remediation team.
- Communicate effectively with the construction teams to ensure the timely execution of remediation plans.
- Identify and track potential network-wide trends, collaborating with SMEs and other teams to mitigate risks across the MBNL site portfolio.
What we are looking for:
- Understanding of either structural, mechanical, civil or electrical systems.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver solutions within agreed timescales.
- Knowledge of risk management processes and the ability to address potential network issues.
- Confidence in decision making where elements of ambiguity exist using information available to you and your own research.
Nice to have:
- HNC or degree level qualifications in either Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Environmental subject or similar engineering discipline.
- Telecoms experience.
- Full Driving Licence.
- Member of relevant Engineering Council or Institution.
- Experience working in a multi-stakeholder environment, where parties may have conflicting interests.
