Are you a Qualified Social Worker with an AMHP Qualification looking for an ad hoc out of hours AMHP role? Randstad are recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join Trafford Council as an AMHP. This is an ad hoc role for the Out of Hours Service. You can expect an amazing pay rate of £40 per hour DOE.

Responsibilities:
- Undertake Mental Health Act (MHA) assessments to determine appropriate interventions
- Coordinate with doctors, police, ambulance, and mental health teams during assessments
- Participate in the AMHP rota, including out-of-hours emergency response
- Collaborate with multi-agency professionals on complex mental health cases
- Represent the Local Authority in safeguarding meetings, tribunals, and court proceedings
- Complete statutory MHA paperwork and provide detailed reports
- Promote and protect service users' rights throughout MHA processes
- Assess and manage risk including safeguarding, suicide risk, and self-neglect
- Apply the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) principles in assessments and decision-making
- Provide support and guidance to colleagues on MHA-related queries
- Liaise with hospitals and community teams for safe discharge and step-down planning
- Attend AMHP supervision and complete CPD for ongoing re-approval
