The role Our Head of Heathrow Cabin Crew leads and supports a team of 80 line managers who manage our 14,000 cabin crew at Heathrow and 500 cabin crew at our global bases. We are looking for an inspiring leader with expertise in achieving success through large teams, using a visionary, strategic approach, to drive transformational and lasting change in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. What you’ll do Lead and support 14,000 cabin crew in the UK and a further 500 at our global bases to improve performance, maintain safety, and meet productivity targets. Innovate and embed a transformative and inspirational cabin crew vision. Drive groundbreaking change in technology, processes, structure, and culture across BA by influencing collaborators and product/service providers, resulting in the most significant cabin crew transformation in BA’s history. Responsible for cabin crew onboarding, pay, training, performance, recognition, reward, managing suppliers and service providers to ensure effective delivery of the Cabin Crew team and corporate priorities. Develop and lead an effective Industrial Relations strategy for the Cabin Crew team, navigating complex union politics and building and maintaining relationships. Build effective collective bargaining structures/agreements. Lead negotiations of significant financial importance, carrying significant risk and having wide organisational impact. Drive and deliver strategic transformation across all 10 global bases, optimising commercial benefit and efficiency. Maintain effective operation ensuring compliance with complex, varied employment legislation. Drive a healthy balanced employer/employee relationship with high eNPS, driving operational stability and outstanding customer outcomes. Collaborate with BA, International Airlines Group, Op Cos, and external suppliers to build an exceptional cabin crew contact platform and performance platform, enhancing commercial outcomes. Your experience Encouraging leader with extensive experience in a complex matrixed operational environment and a track record of successful delivery, through large teams. Ability to drive customer centric transformation within an operationally driven environment. Industrial Relations experience at a senior level. Strong analytical skills, able to use information/data and various metrics to develop an informed business and customer solution and translate into strategy. Outstanding influencing and communication skills. Ability to balance customer and commercial demands. Experience in cultural transformation and change. Employment law, HR leadership and practice.
