THE ROLE I am seeking Quantity Surveyors with at least 2 years or more PQS experience working for a firm of PQS / construction consultants based in Birmingham. They are working on both new build and refurbishment projects across a range of sectors which includes commercial offices, mixed use, residential, stadia and arenas, data centres and more. You will be involved in all aspects of the PQS role doing both pre and post contract work. They will be interested in candidates at all levels from Assistant QS, Project Surveyor, Senior Project Surveyor and possible Associate QS. THE COMPANY My client is a busy established firm of construction consultants providing Quantity Surveying / Cost Management and project management and other services. They currently have two UK offices but are involved in projects both in the UK and some abroad. They work on both new build and refurbishment projects across a range of sectors to include commercial offices, residential, arenas, sports stadia and data centres. THE CANDIDATE You will be a Quantity Surveyor with at least 2 years or more post graduation experience. You could be working towards taking your APC to become chartered, or be already MRICS qualified or have good all round PQS experience but not be chartered. Experience across a range of building projects is preferred. Experience of both pre and post contract work is required. You should be able to use CostX or a similar billing programme. You should have good analytical skills and be able to manage QS tasks through to completion. You should have a stable work record. You must have excellent English both written and spoken and excellent client facing skills. At senior QS or Associate level some experience of managing others is required. Salary is negotiable but likely to be in the range of £40000 to £80000 per annum plus benefits which includes RICS fees, pension, discretionary bonus and other benefits.
